To explain about the 'ideal' occlusion and how to achieve it on an appliance To teach the relevance of canine guidance and even simultaneous poster contacts and neuromuscular release To explain when stability is reached on the appliance and to offer Post-Treatment Advice/options To describe the components of the occlusal appliance & ideal prescription for the laboratory communication. To establish good teamwork and work flow with your assistant to allow smooth record taking and communication with laboratory technicians as well as efficiency in fitting appliances at the chairside. To illustrate costing the treatment for the patient and explanation of the process from assessment to review to ensure best compliance and informed consent Learning outcomes will be: Material use and handling of acrylic and anterior jigs (Lucia & quick splint) Ability to record a Facebow in 5 minutes Competency to correctly fit appliances and achieve ideal contacts. Competency to demonstrate neuro-muscular release on a patient Competency to review and assess the results of treatment. Competency to make further adjustments to the appliance and to be able to judge when the appliance does not need further treatment.
