Occlusion plays a big role in the long-term success or failure of the natural dentition and all restorative work. This course is to cover the considerations for maximising longevity of implant restorations from single tooth to full arch and covers the principles of occlusion, considerations for different scenarios and how this related to the materials used for implant restorations.
Aims outcomes
- How to ensure that the patient has a healthy TMJ and stable occlusal relationship before commencing any treatment and steps to resolve the situation if this is not the case
- Understanding the dynamics of occlusion and long-term changes that can take place over time
- Understanding the principles of material selection and communication of to the patient of expected longevity of implant restorations
